Description
This was shot on my little compact camera yesterday. It was dull and very cold in the wind to be using ungloved hands. The rooftops in the foreground used to be an engineering company where I was an apprentice. It was the largest employer in the town at the time. Marshalls made roadrollers, caterpillar tractors, boilers, marine distillation equipment, M.O.D. stuff and many other items. Now it is a TESCO store. The power station in the distance is where I worked for the last 23 years of my working life before retiring on ill health. This shot was taken with me standing in the cemetery in front of my fathers headstone. A day of reflection.
In case anyone is curious the power station was called West Burton hence WB in the title.

Quite moving to read your words and see this evocative image filled with so many of your memories, Kevin.
Apocalyptic and beautiful!
That's a lot of steam, and a seriously large collection of cooling towers/smokestacks. Excellent capture!
A trilogy of reflections. Nice shot.
Stunning capture my friend. God Bless.
