Description
Manfred freiherr von Richthofen was my first hero growing up, even had a 1/24 scale model of his famous red Fokker Dr. I Triplane hanging from the ceiling.

Outstanding. I love everything about this image and finished building the same plane myself only a few weeks ago.
Fantastic scene!
Beautiful evocation of WW1, excellent work.
Pretty cool scene...The Masters of the Skies.
Nice scene here. 1/24th scale! that'll be the Revell kit then? from the 60's originally but still a good kit today. Keep up with the WW1 Pics...working on one of my own right now.
Peak hour over France...Angry canvas and timber bees! I guess they'd have made quite a racket! Though judging by the clouds, these pilots are perhaps also using oxygen??? ;-) It keeps them away from the mud and mire below anyway.
there he is.i think herman goering was serving with him in first ww.
You're right CyberDoc, Göring actually served under von Richthofen during the War to End All Wars, interestingly enough the von Richthofen Staffel still exist today, they're probably flying Tornadoes today.
My Great Grand Uncle was in Richthofen's Jasta 11... His name was "Carlos Meyer Baldo"...
