Description
I passed through the city of Leiden today. 12-12-2011
This is the 17th century city gate. One of two still standing today.. with old canons in front of it..
Once there were many more.. Strange how many cities destroyed their amazing buildings..
This one is still here.. in the old wall there is now a restaurant !
Leiden is of course the city where the PelgrimFathers took off to the America's

Stunning capture!!
I wonder...since the 1600's how many people have had this view? It has to be in the hundred of thousands...and still a beautiful site to behold! Excellent!
Wonderful place and capture, loved it! Thank you for sharing!
Cool looking Building with cannon.. Nice shot!!
This is such an amazing gate Chris, it is wonderful what good condition your country keeps it's structures in.
This is superb, and thank you for the narrative, very interesting.
Fantastic capture.
Excellent capture.
Love the pov, outstanding capture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
buildings get old, nothing lasts forever.... it's a trip... we had this colisium here in Denver Called McNichol's Sports Arena.... when It opened, zz top was the first attraction.... 25 years later, the city decided to tear it down and build a new stadium.... zz top was the last attraction.... but for a huge building like that to be torn down only after 25 years? Mind Blower.... What's the oldest building you your neck of the woods???
beautiful
