Description
A view of via Altinate in downtown Padova, once an important Roman road, then it led through one of the city's medieval gates.Todays it's suffering a bit of decadence, after the cinemas closed because of the general crisis of old-fashioned cinemas, and the fact that it was turned into a pedestrian-only street, which killed many of the small shops. Only those closer to the medieval gate and the townhall are resisting, as the one which reflectes the porches across the street. The lady with the blue and gray jacket is Flavia. The jacket was a real bargain, discovered in upstate New York. I dedicate this image to Flavia, whose birthday is tomorrow, Nov. 12th:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, FLAVIA!
Thanks for your kind comments.

Splendid gift !!! you are two very near sisters !!!
Excellent reflections! On first glance I thought there were older buildings on both sides of the street. Great image, information, and dedication. I like the combination of lines and arches. Nice to see you, Flavia! Happy birthday in advance!

Wonderful capture of the city street and nice dedi to Flavia.
like the info and magnificent photo.
Allow me to also wish Flavia a very happy birthday. Nice capture too, though after two thousand years of service, I think this road is entitled to a little decadence.
In our Down-under world, tomorrow is already today! I wish you Flavia, a very Happy Birthday Anniversary and Many Happy Returns What a lovely road with those amazing arches, you'll never get wet - when window shopping! ;) (the closure of some roads here is just the same, within the major retailing centres) wonderful presentation Sandra, BB
