Description
I could tell you I made this picture on about day 30 of our 38 day trip when my nerves were just shot and I was going crazy, but really, it was only day 12, and I was having fun. (I never did lose it, actually ... the whole trip was wonderful. I DID refuse to take pictures out the car window in southern Idaho, though. I have pictures of southern Idaho from our trip back from Kansas last year, and nothing has changed.)
Driving from Iowa City to Chicago, I got the idea to take some shots where I focused on a farm (or whatever) in the distance, and then waited for a tree to go by before pressing the shutter. The idea was to get a focused shot with a motion-blur tree in the foreground. I did several of these, but as is often the case, the first one was the best.
This was in Eastern Iowa on the only rainy day of our entire trip. (Except for that 15-minute downpour in Chicago on Friday.)
