Description
Well, I have had this dude as a "pet" for a couple weeks now. Took it in after I found him on a hibiscus that was infested with White Flies. So before I sprayed it with chemicals I brought him in.
Finally got around to trying something different. Placed him on a large mirror to get some shots.
Rather liked a few from the session, this being one of my favs. Hope you like it as well.
One tip, if anyone does this, use a lint free cloth to clean the mirror. I used paper towels and spent a bit of time in post work cleaning the tiny lint off the surface. ;-)
Thanks for looking. Believe this is a Bold Jumping Spider (pretty common around my yard).

PS Full Size is cool for those who dare to look!

Fantastic shot!!!
oh wow ,good i don't hate spider ;) fantastic in zoom view too !!
fabulous work!!
This is superb and I think Jumping Spiders are the best pets you can get (for their size) and I must say that I rather like the species name: "Bold Jumping Spider." In my neighborhood, I think what spider-ologists would call "Pushy Jumping Spiders." Okay, I just made that bit up, but I have to say that the jumping spiders I've encountered were rather pushy. In a good way. Either that or nosy. I love the colors on this and I have to say that I envy you; I have yet to find an even vaguely-cooperative jumping spider. All of the ones I know of seem to possess Attention Deficit Disorder and are always doing something whenever a camera is aimed at them. This is a gorgeous shot and I love the iridescent touches. Stunning!
What a incredible macro!! Is an instant fav. ! Thanks for your tips.
a truly magnificent shot Bruce
Fantastic image. Outstanding work.
Wow this is really awesome and some shots can loose all the beautiful detail on something so small but this is excellent work.
such a sweetie !
Holy wow! That is some image, Bruce! I've never seen a critter like this, particularly so up close and personal. You are quite the brave one, taking in this little visitor! I can't believe how fantastically detailed he is in this capture! Excellent!
Evil looking beast makes you glad you are not fly size, super shot.
Excellent macro.
He is beautiful!
Freakingly nice!
Marvelous shot. I wonder how you get this dude sitting still. Which lens you use?
Wonderful, sharp macro. Great example of how to do it right!
