Description
Xanthocephalus xanthocephalus.
Whitewater Draw, southern Arizona, USA.
Large flocks of these and Red-winged Blackbirds had been flying around, keeping me amused, for some time. A hawk flew among them, but they flew together without fear. Periodically they would land together. When I left, I was looking at the places where they had landed. The light as I looked at these birds just took my breath away.
