Description
My friend's dad was the chief engineer on the Matich SR4 program, and to cut a long story short he (her dad) was given the opportunity to 'buy' the car! He still owns it and lovingly cares for it to this day. Under the direction of Australian racing driver Frank Matich, the car was produced with the guidance of designer-frabricator Henry Nehrybecki in 1969 utilising a quad cam Repco 740 V8. Matich dominated the inaugural Australian Sports Car Championship in that year, winning all three heats with the SR4. The car was actually faster than any of the Formula One cars of the period.
