Description
I have supported my lifestyle as a computer geek but my heart has always been with my personal studies of military history, worldwide. This is a bullet, from the US Civil War, Battle of Gettysburg, fought in and around Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, July 1 to 3, 1863. The Northern (Union) army had 93,921 men and boys, entrenched on the high ground. The Southern (Confederate) army had 71,699. They both had casualties and deaths totaling in the 23,000 to 24,000 range. I made four trips to Gettysburg but the most memorable visit, was with my sons, Dana II (0rest4wicked) and Drew. It was an amazing day to retrace the steps of both armies. This bullet is about an inch (2.5cm) long, half as much in diameter and used by the Union Ary. Statistics from Wikipedia. Zoom will help a little.
Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated.

Great and interesting photo shots Dana.
Quite interesting !
Wonderful series of shots Dana! I guess from its condition that its not ever hit anything hard or kinda bony or fleshy. And OMG its an old dum dum style round, i.e. hollow. Barbarity is unfortunately nothing new! Cool find though. I empathise of the geek to support lifestyle, I know it well! Martin
Nice find it looks like it didn't hit anything, no damage.
