Hi! Lots of rivers, channels, lakes, 50 000 boats - and sports activities, too! Berlin with its great abilities of water activities has a lot of clubs and communities with tenthousand of active members, engaged in sports like sailing and rowing. I don`t know where their place is among their international collegues - somewhere in the middle, I thing. Rowing has a big tradition here: Today we have had the big rowing regatta through the middle of Berlin. This regatta is 82 years old and runs over a distance of 7 kilometers. at first settled at the Lower Havel and its lakes it is now situated at the river Spree and runs directly through Berlin. Today we had guests from China at the first time, and they won both races with their eight-rower boats - men and women. A very strong team. The pics are on my camera in the moment, so this pic here was taken one year ago. The bridge here is situated near my flat and it is the best place I can get, because I can look down.
