I love those intense, red stems. Ah, beets! I love 'em. I like the smell of them raw, when they're still growing in their pre-pickled stage of life, and I have fond memories of my grandmother pickling them and putting them in jars when I was younger. This is great. I like the top of this particular beet peeking up like that.

What a coincidence, I'm sitting here with some wine slowly getting pickled myself! Cooked, pickled or made into soup (always with sour cream) are how I like them. I have to get to the store and get some now.

I love them in my hamburgers! A lady at work was saying she dyes stuff (clothes etc I think) with the juice. That's probably common knowledge but it was new to me......
I never learned to like these, but anything growing in the ground is good in my book! Great capture!

We made beet and feta salad earlier in the year. Oh man, was that good! Oven roasted in foil, then peeled and sliced ... outstanding!
Miss the old days when I used to help my mom can all of summers hard work...Reminded me of that .....Nice Capture and thanks for sharing!..
