Description
I could not find anything close to resembling any form of Animalia - Arthropoda - Crustacea - Malacostraca - Isopoda - Oniscide - Armadillidium vulgare - or any other type of woodlice.
But on the way out of the woods, I did find a yellow jacket nest under the deck. Very active! So Happy Birthday my friend and many, many more. Do zoom!
Thanks for stopping by my gallery, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated.

You were brave to get that close Dana but youv'e got yourself a super capture.
Superb capture Dana.
I'm sure Chip will enjoy this fine photo, and my birthday wishes go out to him as well!
He will be THRILLED! great pic!
Wonderful capture! But don't get to close. ;)
Only time I have been near one of these things it hurt. Got stung several times eek! Nice shot Dana!
Great capture, Dana! Great birthday wish to Chip! Happy Birthday, Chip
A great nest shot are they stingers.
Oooh, WOW! Chicago Yellow Jackets are exhibitionists: they don't build that curtain...well, in this case, that skin. How interesting. That looks like a pretty solid nest too...I'll bet it's an older colony...either that or you were really, really, I mean really close to it. Well...maybe not. I love this! I notice these ladies have dark antennas and not the orangy/yellow ones common in the Midwest and so I'm guessing that these are Eastern Yellow Jackets. This may not be woodlice, but I love it! I have quite a close friendship with this species; I've never been stung, and there have been times when I'd get close enough to touch a nest. Usually all that ever happens is one of the wasps on guard duty would eye me with suspicion and then lose interest as if to say, "Oh, you again." They love Snapple (Peach Tea.) Okay, I'm rambling, but that's because I love this shot. Thank you for the dedication! I'm thrilled. Actually, I'm kinda giddy and inspired to go find the nearest hive.
Cool photograph of the hive, Dana. Other than the insects, this looks all the world like a spool of heavy string rather than a yellow jacket nest.
fantastic dedi!!
great capture and dedication!!

A great shot, dear Dana. I would not have got so close. I can see by his comment Chip loved it. Hugs to you both. Di. xx
