Description
This is to give you a better idea how I did the last Image..All the characters were render together using one light source at a time..
Since this was my first time layering light I decided to only use 3 light source..
One was Shadow the other was a Fill light from the main camera and the other was a light from the direction the characters were facing..I render each one with this light source then I took them into Photoshop..
I guess you can also use Paint Shop Pro or any other Paint or Photo Program that lets you use Jpegs....
I started first with a Black Background then added my Images
I then used the Transparent slider to blend the images together and the end result was my last Picture....I guess this type of rendering could be useful when using large crowds or any Image that takes a long time to render to save time.
It's always good to try something New

thanks for the info... this type of overlay works great with rain, showers... it's a great tool that most of my favorite artist don't use... great for special lighting like campfires or a siren.

I tried this too...it gives excellent results and you can totally control the final lighting. I too recommend this method.
I used light layering for my image "Kalinka Gets Down". Three lights, rendered using Luxrender. Using all three lights at once, took 30 hours. Doing one light at a time, took three hours! Use3d The Gimp to composite, per Artistheat's and dreamlight's suggestion. Have a post with all three images on the Pose2Lux.com site if you're interested.
