Large 35" image so Zoom In......
Finally some renders to see where I'm going with this. A second set of sails to do, rope ties, barrels and other items on the deck, I have created a water island for lack of better terms.. a water plane with a hole in it so this shallow vessel doesn't have water in its bottom. Have made 3 sets of oar positions, and there will be the Noble Shields shown earlier to go along with the standard shields shown here.
Pretty much happy with the inner hull textures but need to work more on the outer hull where there is so much going on with the overlapping planks.
As you see it here, about 480K in polys.
Hope you all like the weathered look. After looking at old woodcuts and battle scenes of Vikings, a fresh coat of paint on the vessel just didn't cut it.

Fresh coat of paint?! Heaven forbid! The textures looks excellent to me and the important sails are ultra prima. Never before in 3d have you seen so good sail material.. No cheap shaders here only high-res photographic material handpainted over. Fortunatly for us Webster never learned to cut corners.. :)

It is beautiful. And the sails in particular are really nice. My only wish would be for optional low res vikings to go with it!! (people to man the ships is such a problem..) I am envious of your modeling skills.
