Another image from the archives!
I have captured this fellow in the Kruger National Park in South Africa a couple of years ago. I remember vividly that we saw him just after entering the park and he was very close to the road. I also have a very neat image of his bum!!
Thank you for popping in and for your very welcome comments and favs on my last upload "A Sister for Kayla."

Lovely :)
excellent and very clear closeup with many details tosee ,from this rhino !!
Splendid capture! :)
What a wonderful capture! I love the composition ... a beautiful portrait! It amazes me that you see these creatures just down the road from you. To me they're absolutely exotic! (Maardit poseer vir troue fotos?) :P Lief jou, Dierbaar! :X
A fab capture Carin and great textural skin.
I just can not imagine being so close to one of these magnificent animals but how exciting it must be. Great shot!
What an amazing closeup, the texture of his skin, you feel you could touch him!!!
Wonderful capture , Carin !
Superb capture Carin! Love the skin textures here!
Wonderful capture!
My two favorite exotic animals are not one of the big Cats, or the giraffes, or elephants (although they would be in my top 5), but the hippo and the rhino fill those 2 top spots. And this is what I would think of when thinking about a spectacular rhino shot. How exciting this must have been. BTW, this is a much better angle than a photo of it's bee-hind. :-)
Lovely. I love visiting these guys in our open planes zoo. They take you out in a 4WD and these guys come right up to the window. Thats when it occurs to me that if he wanted to, he could destroy me and the car in about 2 seconds!!!!!!!!!!!! Beautiful creature.
How very exciting to be close to this magnificent creature! I Hope we get to see the bum pic too!
Stunning capture Carin. God Bless.
Fantastic capture, Carin
These beasts are so cool looking! I just noticed the furry tips of his ears! :P
Beautiful texture shot, you must be well hidden- thanks for sharing! :-)

What a magnificent beast! Sterling clarity, lighting and texture effects in this splendid composition, Carin. Unknown to most people is that the fingernails and toenails of humans consist of the same material as the horns of a rhino. So, despite the apparent lack of resemblance, we are related in a certain way.
wow this must give you a rush
A super capture of this very impressive animal. I think he is watching you too.
Wow, to see one of these where it lives must be just amazing--great shot!!
Thick skin for sure - which I can see clearly now, even the tip of his ears - just like a paintbrush effect ... I agree with Andrea 'bottoms up' next, please BB
Fantastic detail in this wonderful shot...how cool it must be to see them out and about!
Could he be Rhino Neil :)
Stunning picture of this majestic, rare and wonderful animal.. Lets see more from the archives Carin, good one! Rob
