Another absolutely marvelous place my friend, gorgeous view! Thank you for sharing!
I'm dipping back a bit for my last comment in your excellent gallery for this time around. I meant to comment on this one when it was newer, but... When I was stationed in England (79-81), my parents and I came here. One of the things I always remembered about this place was that someone had a great sense of humor here. There was a display of stones found at the castle and the write-up on them had me chuckling. I took a picture of the write-up (though not of the stones, unfortunately) and am going to post it next week. Very nice capture! You were not blessed by an interesting sky, but you turned that into a good thing here. The great detail, soft light, and close crop, focuses the eye on the wonderful architecture. The soft light brings out the subtle color differences in the stone. I like the view leading up to the archway and through it, and the black windows on the outside buildings and lighter ones in the tower. Lovely shot!
