Description
I think the "Clocks" of Goatsbeard are magnificent
and so intricate. They are twice the size of Dandilions. The individual seed has its own parachute on a stalk. It has dark spokes and the finest silken white filiments across them.
I have a book on botanical art that shows how to draw and paint these clocks. It scares me to death the idea of trying to capture such fine details with watercolour. I would need to be steadier in the hand to even have a go.
Do have a close look at it's construction. A true marvel, to create an individual flying machine for each of it's seeds!

Great shot Kevin.
Just superb! I've just removed a plant from the edge of my pond before it seeded, or I could have had a garden full!
Stunning capture my friend. God Bless.

This is a wonderful shot!!! and I have to chuckle with your comments because I did try to paint this, and it ended up looking sort of like an alien LOL. Love this image!!!
