Description
The last of my Linlithgow Palace photos. These are the four crests over the front entrance. I searched and Goggled but cannot ID any of them. The left one looks British, the middle two Scottish and the right side looks French. This photo taken May 1995 and scanned. Zoom for a better look.
Thanks for stopping by my gallery, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated.

Fab shot Dana so very clear and great colors.
Very beautiful place Dana, adorable details excellent work! Congratulations!
Great capture - I was there last year and think it's an amazing place! Did you get any shots of the lake with the palace in the background?
Excellent detail! But I can't help with ID :(
England, Scotland, Spain (Leon y Castile or vice versa), France. That's my nickel. Nice shot.
great shot and details !!
Crests and ensigns are so fascinating; they're also incredibly cryptic. Once, it seemed that everyone knew what they represented and one could virtually read an entire narrative by simply looking at buildings. Now, their meanings are lost, obscured, of hijacked by fashion designers who put them on clothing along with random words like: "Pink" and "Cool" and "Rock-n-Roll" and what-have-you. I much prefer the "old school" stuff to the modern, sartorial text-junk. And I have to say that you've nabbed a wonderful capture here. This is excellent!
Wonderful shot Dana!!
Excellent capture Dana! I think weesel has it pretty much right. ;)
Wonderful capture Dana.
wonderful!! I'm with weesel: England, Scotland, Castilla Y Leon, France. The union of the kingdom of Castilla Y Leon with Aragona through the marriage of Isabella I of Castile with Ferdinand II of Aragon formed "Spain". Castilla y Leon crest exibit the chain of the Order of the Golden Fleece.
