The Large Hadron Collider
The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is a gigantic scientific instrument near Geneva, where it spans the border between Switzerland and France about 100 m underground. It is a particle accelerator used by physicists to study the smallest known particles – the fundamental building blocks of all things. It will revolutionise our understanding, from the minuscule world deep within atoms to the vastness of the Universe.
Two beams of subatomic particles called 'hadrons' – either protons or lead ions – will travel in opposite directions inside the circular accelerator, gaining energy with every lap. Physicists will use the LHC to recreate the conditions just after the Big Bang, by colliding the two beams head-on at very high energy. Teams of physicists from around the world will analyse the particles created in the collisions using special detectors in a number of experiments dedicated to the LHC.
There are many theories as to what will result from these collisions, but what's for sure is that a brave new world of physics will emerge from the new accelerator, as knowledge in particle physics goes on to describe the workings of the Universe. For decades, the Standard Model of particle physics has served physicists well as a means of understanding the fundamental laws of Nature, but it does not tell the whole story. Only experimental data using the higher energies reached by the LHC can push knowledge forward, challenging those who seek confirmation of established knowledge, and those who dare to dream beyond the paradigm.

Superb fractal work!
Fantastic work my friend.....!!!!
Magnifica concepção, obra e texto meu amigo, aplausos (5)
Amazing and fantastic image.....!!!
Fantastik work , Magik! Very great infO !
The statement brings the dream, then comes the applause .... Well done and very informative ((5 + +)) L'instruction apporte le rêve ,ensuite vient les applaudissements .... Bravo et très instructif ((5++))
Thats what I like about RR, I learn things I didn't know :o)Great info & work!!!
This is a splendid fractal, great design and great color scheme. Superbly done.
I've seen programs about this on TV! Your fractal is a wonderful representation!
Sensational Real!~~~
Splendid creation and colours! :)
Le CERN n'a pas provoqué de trou noir. S'il l'avait fait, on seraient tous morts en une nanoseconde et donc, quelle importance ?
exploding atom, shock wave, cool fractal
Beautiful fractal, Magik!
they were building one south of Dallas, but after spending billions of dollars, the congress pulled the plug.with a very long tunnel and so many buildings.I think real estate agents were able to sell part with billions lost of US taxpayers. very cool flame
Very beautiful composition, my friend!!!
Excellent image, wonderful colors and lighting. Thanks for sharing all the information to go with it.
Fine fractal and vision of what is going on in this power particle accelerator! Many new finds of smallest "building block" could give science and new useful technology a boost. Once it was believed that the smallest particles was the so called atoms. Since it has been shown that atom consist of much smaller elements with rather weird behave - and mostly can be described as forces who interact with each other and creates this world on macro level which seems to be so solid. Great design and work MU, excellent done.
EXCELLENT WORK!
Fantastic image and wonderful information! Excellent!
Mind-blowing! Very cool, Real!
Fantastic creation!!!
joli cern!!
Superb!!
