LOL @ Dana...a Czech guy once said that you can eat any fungus ONCE...and it's only a matter of luck if you're even around to eat it a second time. Having said that, I have to say that this is quite an exquisite example of rather cheesy-looking life. I like the texture quite a lot and it always amazes me to see just how diverse and dark persistent life is. This looks like a multi-species thing too, algae or moss growing on or IN the fungus structure itself and if that's the case, then it shows that us human types aren't the only ones who know how to do that negotiating thing. This is a fantastic shot!
