ML-2 in Orbit. With the first phase of the mission to launch an ML Test Article successfully into Earth orbit now completed it is time for the next phase of the mission to begin. Waiting in orbit for the ML-2 Test Article to arrive are the Orbital Shuttles Atlantis and Discovery. As the Test Article successfully separates from the Hercules Super Booster and its inertia carries it into low Earth orbit the two shuttles close in for rendezvous and slowly, ever so slowly as the Test Articles forward motion begins to decrease the Orbital Shuttle Atlantis with its two robotic arms deployed moves in to lock on to the externally mounted hard points on the Test Articles outer casing. As the two sets of jaws snap shut and confirmed contact is made the crew of the Discovery make a flyby of the Test Article to check for external damage after which the crew of Atlantis will slowly move the Test Article toward the International Space Station so that the next phase of the mission can take place. To be continued.
