Sunset on Garda Lake in Bardolino
Bardolino
The small town that gave its name to the well-known red wine is located on the south-eastern shore of the Lake. It is situated in the middle of the so-called 'Riviera degli Olivi' a picturesque hilly landscape dominated by vineyards and olive groves. There are plenty of opportunities to sample the famous red wine and the excellent olives in one of the local wine-cellars. The pretty old town with its lakeside promenade offers something for every taste. Particularly after sun-set the small bars and cafes are good places to meet up and watch the hustle and bustle of the lanes and squares. Many shops are open until midnight, a good opportunity for shopping and strolling after an excellent dinner.
Among Bardolino’s main monuments we must surely mention the church of San Zeno that is obviously one of the most beautiful Carolingian churches in Italy.
