Description

I just carn't get the image out of my head that I saw in a trailer on the 6.30 news, for an item that would be on the 10 o'c news. I am all too aware of what happens to dogs in some countries, how they are kept for meat & how they meet their end. I just wish that ITV News would have given a warning as to what they were going to show in the trailer for the later news. I carn't get the image out of my head, I am not going to tell you as I don't want it to be in yours. All I am aware of is a dog lover had stopped a lorry carrying the dogs. I avoided the 10 o'c news like the plague but if anyone saw it could they let me know if the dogs were saved. I so wish I could help. Thanks for listening, just wanted to post the girls having & thinking of all those dogs/animals that carn't. xxxx

Some places in the world dogs and other animals are treated very badly...I never see such things if I can avoid it! But I'm glad to see your lovely dogs enjoy their lives with you, Barbara! :o)

I love this collage of your beautiful furry friends frollicking. The cruelity of people never ceases to amaze me. We get a chanel here called Animal Planet, and they have a show called Animal Cops, it is a show about the ASPCA officers apprehending abused or neglected animals. It is a very well done show and quite often has good results where terribly abused animals finally get rescued, and rehabilitated and adopted out to loving homes. There are also cases where the outcome is not so good. There is a very definate link between animal abuse and agression towards other people.

Nice photos of the girls Barbara. I agree with you that they should have given you warning about what they were going to show. It breaks my heart how some animals are treated

I'm so glad I missed both news programmes tonight! I hate any form of animal cruelty and wish it could be wiped out but if I ever see a programme or article on it I literally end up in floods of tears so I just won't watch. Can't watch the vets programmes either. Whether the animals recover or not - whichever the outcome I have tears rolling dowm my face :(

Perhaps all we can do is look after our own animals and hope that people learn from us!

I know how upset and alarmed you were at seeing such a thing, my dear Barbara, and agree that there should always be warnings as to what might be seen on the news. It is so dreadful to see such things and know that there is nothing that you can do. hugs and love Janice and the furs xxxxxxxxx

Just reading it has burned an image in my mind. I've seen documentaries and news items that come out of Eastern and Far Eastern countries about dogs and cats. Once you know .. it never leaves you. We've gone so far in the opposite direction that it is hard to understand the cruelty to animals .. I don't even like think about how cattle are treated on our farms (and I suspect in farms all over the world) and the images of poultry farms .. sigh. Veal .. how can anyone eat veal?? And on and on it goes. I feel a rant coming on, so I'll just focus on the girls playing in the water. Wonderful images of some very lucky dogs .. sadly .. such a wonderful life happens only to a very small number of animals. Sigh.
