Description
This is a small 12th century chapel near the village of Pano Akourdaleia, near Paphos, Cyprus. The front doors are fastened with a shoe-lace tied through the handles. The inside is in amazing condition and a small table has money thrown on it from visitors. These places still do exist. (Ayia means Saint in English)

wow thats amazing! Lucky you to witness this scene and thanks for sharing! :-)
Isn't this amazing. To think at the time this was built, a sword's crushing blow extinguished the life of Thomas Becket, Archbishop of Canterbury, on a cold December evening as he struggled on the steps of his altar. Richard The Lionheart would soon be busy massacring The Saracens......and Pharaoh Ramses V died from a scorching case of smallpox!
Really interesting...your info and the last commentator put it into perspective.
Very good capture!!
nice capture
I know this well, I lived in Paphos for 4 years.
