Description
I was looking forward to photographing the Natural Bridge in Aruba but on arrival, we found it had collapsed on September 2, 2005. So I’ve scanned an old photo taken February 2002. It is not my best shot but this photo has a person on the bridge, for perspective. This was one of Aruba's most popular attractions. The bridge was a formation of coral and limestone, cut out by years of pounding surf. It was one of the largest of these types of spans in the world. It stood 23 feet (7 meters) above sea level and spanned more than 100 feet (30 meters).
Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments.

Beautiful beach view and capture Dana!
Beautiful Dana and great info. Errol posted another example from Hawaii recently! The one we have here collapsed the same way too. It was known locally as London bridge, and people were left stranded. They had to be rescued bu helicopter.

Very beautiful shot! what Mother Nature creates, Mother Nature can take away
wonderful bridge!
Excellent POV and DOF, and gorgeous colors, lighting and textural effects in this pic of the awesome natural structure. At least you have photographic proof of its past existence, Dana, which is a prize in itself.
Nothing last forever! That's why we take pictures, well that's one of the reasons anyway. ;) Excellent capture!
nice job
Wonderful shot, good thing you got it when you did!
As someone already said, Mother Nature has the last word--nice that you got this foto while it still existed!!
