Description
I was looking thru some old files and found this poem I wrote after an earthquake we had here about a year and half ago. It did some damage, but nothing compared to the one in Japan.
Whole Lotta Shakin Goin On
Rockin and
Rollin
Shakin
And shiverin
Jumpin and
Jiving
The earth
Danced
Its crazy jitterbug
The music
Of breaking
Glass
Filled the air
The unexpected
Concert
Caused buildings
To dance
Their
Asses off
It was a
Dance of death
And destruction
For some
Of those
Old places
For they
Really weren’t
Strong enough
For such
A lively step
So today
I watch
As we bury
Those old
Stalwarts
Brave
Strong
Indestructible
We thought
Brick by brick
They came down
And the music
Goes on

Lovely words in this Marilyn well done!!
Yeah!Mother Nature creates and dances to her own song. it's up to man to dance to it as well.
Brilliant, Marilyn!
This is fabulous! Your metaphor carries through beautifully, and gives such a sense of noise and movement. Excellent work!
Outstanding image and prose, Marilyn! Shake, rattle, and roll!!! Actually, I was listening to some seismologists on the radio last night and they feel that the Juan del Fuca/Cascade fault up in the state of Washington is long overdue for a 9.0 shaker any time now. That and the Madrid fault in middle America, and the Yellowstone caldera. Of course, we can't forget the California San Andreas fault either.
the poem do go well with the image.
Well written my friend and even more poignant with what has happened in Japan. Dana
