Description
To tell the truth, I really have to swallow back the expletives while coping with people who simply must stand up during a fireworks display. Does this guy really believe that no one's view is being obstructed by his act of nurturing? Does he really believe that he is the only human being on the face of the Earth? Sign!
Still, the photo turned out pretty good for a quick snap night shot, all things considered. So I count my blessings and allow him to enjoy his. We're all Canadians after all. Well that and of coarse I smuggled liquor into the park so I was just a little more jolly that night. Sigh again!
Speaking of Canadians, this photo I took during Canada Day celebrations last year (1 July 2010). It was a remarkably potent display as I recall, especially considering the small size of the city park. Many, many BOOMS! to make the little ones cover their ears in stunned amazement. And, during the crescendo, the light was so intense that the grounds seemed to be drenched in daylight. Well, the sort of daylight one might expect in a trinary star system where all the suns are unstable and blink a lot. The kind of place where you wouldn't actually expect to find a planet like Earth since such places do not lend themselves to long term stability. Do you think that I have over explained this matter?
This photo is dedicated to Lynell (aka. tennesseecowgirl). Lynell is a wonderful photographer who has the eye and skill to bring out the truly remarkable in items and scenes which most of us would dismiss as mundane and ordinary. And, if you love colour as I do, her gallery never disappoints. She has also been a regular fan of my gallery for several years now and I greatly appreciate and thank her for her support.
Cheers!

Very good capture, in spite of the jerk! Great dedication to Lynell
Gorgeous fireworks!!
This really is a super photo Clayton, and let me give you three cheers for being bothered by the joker who can't stay seated. That also drives me crazy, especially when they block the view of children
Thank you for such a sweet compliment. And I really love this image, and its quite fitting considering I was born on the 4th of July, (United States Independence Day) and one of my dads nicknames for me was firecracker, among other things. :) And I understand your frustration about the man standing up while others are sitting and try to enjoy the show, sort of like those who show up late for a movie or concert, and then climb all over the aisles. But actually I think it adds to this capture and makes a great silhouette. Thanks again Clayton for this and your kind words, and yes I guess I do have a love for things that are a bit off the beaten path, I am always happy to see when others appreciate them as well. Have a great weekend my friend.
cool capture Clayton..
WOW...Beautiful photo, amazing view friend, excellent shot!
Very nice capture clayton and nice dedication..
~Really fabulous!!!~
i am ok with fireworks in the evening on a festive day. but here in spain its different. during fiesta days the kids run up and down all day long in every f.. corner with their firecrackers, and this for a week or so wich during the fiesta days gives me soo much disgust that i cant even enjoy the final firework, and in the end i dont even spend a cent on their shit fiesta and so do a lot of other people. see what i mean everything in due time is ok but all day long no, sorry to say but i wont feel bad when some asshole loses an eye over this.
Excellent image!!
Very beautiful shot Kates.Congratulations
great
I guess he thought the little guy couldn't see. lol
Great capture...I love the story that goes along with this photo!!!
I do so know what you mean about people blocking views and such- however, I think in this case it really adds to the photo. I love the slight rim of light on the man's face - and the child - wow, it almost looks like an aura surrounding his head - don't know if it's fireworks or a small cloud or what, but it is positioned perfectly. Excellent capture!
I agree as re the person standing there Clayton, but I think that by chance it has added to the interest all round. A great scene as the father and his son are silhouetted against the remarkable firework display. Wonderful dedi Clayton, you are right Lynell's photography always pleases. hugs Jane xx
