Description
This group of spoonbills were building a community nesting area. The main nest looked near completion. There was a second nest in back and a third nest started at the right. They did not have much color because they were in a shadow and the flash washed away the pink in the wings. They are about 32 inches (81 cm) long and have a wingspan of about 50 inches (127 cm).
Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments.

I love the flora and fauna of Florida and these bird really are quite beautiful closeup. The pink is very delicate and understated, but really gives them a very regal air. Nice shot!

PRETTY BIRDS!
Cool that you were able to catch these avians in the process of building nests, maybe condominium style, Dana. Good contrast in this one, and I love those spoonbill beaks.
How lovely that they like to nest together so that they can chat to each other while they sit on the eggs. A beautiful capture of these lovely birds.
