Description
The Ladychaun was originally conceived as a St. Patrick's Day themed villainess partnered with Valentino Amoré as kind of a "luck and love duo." Part of the original idea was that they were jealous of all the attention that St. Nicolas and Christmas got over the holidays for their respective saints, so they became super-powered villains in order to destroy Christmas and its heroes to make way for the glory of their own respective holidays. She also didn't have much of an origin, and was pretty much just a pawn of Valentino's. I've now rectified that by giving her a full back story and tying her into two Irish themed heroes rather than the Christmas heroes, although that isn't to say that she couldn't come into contact with them in the future, nor is she such a completely independent character now that I can't write a future story where she and Valentino could still work together for some common goal sometime later..
5/17/26 - The real tragedy of this character is that she doesn't have to be a villain, as she could be the heroine that she wants to be, and could be a very good one with the sheer amount of power that she possesses if it wasn't for her misguided jealousy and almost stalkerish nature of aways wanting to hunt down and destroy the power-couple of "Pot o' Gold" and "Three-Leaf Clover," collectively known as "Team Goldleaf." And while they are two very public individuals, who run a global fitness business, which means that they are often seen all around the world, and do travel often, they are primarily based out of their hometown and place of origin, Boston, MA, in the USA. They aren't necessarily always visiting Ireland, where they obtained their powers, nor do they have any kind of second home there. So, unless she goes out of her way to interfere with their lives, they would have little or no contact with her. But, interfere with them is exactly what she's decided to do with her life, since she's a person fully born and raised in Dublin Ireland,
But she is the only character in the entire CSCU who is from there, and who choses to continue to make her base of operations be from there, due to her misguided attempt to be some kind of protector of her country, but only succeeding in being a fanatical miscreant instead. Fortunately for her, her day job as a historian, does give her the freedom to travel all over the world doing her misdeeds, by using her occupation as a cover for them, writing off her frequent journeys as business expense for historical research, when in reality she's just an unhinged lunatic causing as much trouble as possible for "Team Goldleaf" and any other do-gooders who might get in her way. Now, while she could be somewhat well-off being a historian, and thus be able to afford to travel so much with no real issues, that all really depends on how well known she is and if she's been able to gain some profits in her work through any kind of book or television deals or anything like that, and that's a story to cover another day. But, regardless, of her levels of success in her civilian life, I was thinking that like her enemies, she too should have some mode of transportation unique to her that she can use in battle as well as a convenient way to get from place to place that doesn't involve having to save up her frequent flier miles or taking public transportation everywhere.
What to give her that she can use that isn't the same as what "Pot O'Gold" and "Three-Leaf Clover" have? Sure, she's insanely jealous of the two of them, and her symbol is that of a lucky four-leaf clover, instead of a standard three-leaf one. But, I don't want to just make her a copycat of "Three-Leaf" where she too flies around on a giant clover, even if it has a different number of leaves. Plus, since her powers, while also magical, are also bit more tech-based, than the powers of her enemies, she can't just instantly produce a mystical flying object like they can. So, she needs something high-tech that is solid enough to support her, but is also portable enough to carry around when it's not in use. So, I thought it would be cool if she had something like a "flying carpet" that could easily fold up into her utility belt and expand outward for her to fly around on. And, since she's all about being Irish and everything about the history of her homeland, it could be an Irish flag. Plus, since the CSCU takes place in the far future, it could all be possible via some kind of advanced future or alien nanotech or something, and maybe she just used her powers to con someone out of it, or stole the tech from somewhere, since she's not really the type to make this kind of thing on her own. Or perhaps, if she really does have a working relationship with Valentino Amore, then maybe his connections as a wealthy fashion designer gives her the means to set up connections with tech such as this and other ways to get around the world for her nefarious schemes.
