Description
My first bug of the season :) The weather has been fantastic and the bugs are starting to roam about and the flowers are beginning to bud and bloom. YAY!!
This is little fuzzier/grainier than I'd like, but due to the breeze and shade I cranked up the ISO. (Not to mention an astigmatism that frustrates me to no end when it comes to trying to focus :P~ )
My previous upload, "Lily Soft". You may see more of these if I had any luck this morning. The sunlight was just right so I was out with the camera taking photos of my Lily. Then I headed to my Mom's and took some pics of her flowers. She had an iris, I swear, as big as my hand!
Happy Hump Day :)

Sweet capture! She looks great
Awesome macro Melinda! I can't wait for the bugs to come out here!
excellent focus and macro
Very cute! Love the POV!
Stellar colors, focus, lighting and texture in this cool macro, Melinda! I didn't know you had astigmatism. Can't your viewfinder adjustment dial compensate for that? I haven't tested my astigmatism, if any, on my camera viewfinder since my eye surgery.
Gorgeous! I love the bright colors. This just jumps off the page! Excellent work!
I love how you captured the light on the bug. Awesome macro and colors
superb macro
Hot Dog, this is stellar!
Outstanding work.
Excellent macro!
still a great shot!
wonderful macro!!!!!!
loving your bug....:)
Terrific job!!
This is gorgeous: I once heard an entomologist state that "God has an incredible fondness for beetles, which explains why there are more beetle species on earth than any other species of animal." I don't know why, but I tend to think of that whenever I see ladybugs, fireflies, and other beetles...including cockroaches which are beetles. Funny the stuff oozing around in my brain! Anyway, enough rambling. This is a super shot! I love the intimate detail and the grain/fuzz adds a bit of mood to the image, it gives a more candid quality that works, I think in really heightening the emotional vibe of this image. It's no longer just a straight image...it's got a different sort of texture. I really like it, and I love the details, the dimples in the carapace, the nicely warm colors, and the details of the beetle itself. Yeah, this is making a trip into my favorites!
How nice close up !!
