Similar in design to its bigger brother, the Earth Defences Organisation, City Class cruiser has been designed for one thing and one thing only - fast, deadly attack. Un-hampered by the mass of communications gear that the Capital Class cruisers carry, the City Class are able to move and manoeuvre faster in a combat situation enabling then to make bigger use of their weaponary systems. The City Class cruiser is also the largest of the EDO fleet which is able to make a planetary landfall enabling it to be serviced and re-armed either aboard its System Class mothership or at an EDO planetary or moon base. Carrying the same twelve, twin barrel, rapid fire laser battery mounts for closs-in ship defence, as the EDO Capital Class crusiers, the City Class also still carries as its main armament two forward firing, rapid fire torpedo launchers.
