Description
Got to thinking again about Edward Abbey whose books I've read: 'Desert Solitaire' (true life) and 'Monkey Wrench Gang' (fictional). This image brought me to thinking about him; and, who inspired me to move to the west. Try reading Desert Solitaire and you'll know what I mean. I've been to many of the places he mentioned in the book.
Check out this Wikipedia link and read about his life and the unique way in which he requested to be buried upon his death: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Abbey .

WOW...way to go Bob. This rocks. It tells a story of desolation...a story of solitude...a story of peace...a story of finding oneself and saying....yeah, it is well with my soul. Excellent work!
~Marvelously realistic and beautiful!~
WOW, awesome image! The flowers and bushes are spot on. Fantastic lighting. Corrie
Nice work Bob, love the backlighting.
Fascinating! Especially about Abbey's burial. The foreground is a little dark the way I have my monitor set. But it's a beautiful image.
