Description
After yet another tease/freeze cycle from Michigan's lovely March weather (Where it will look like spring for a couple of days, lure you into optimism and then drop 4 inches of snow overnight) we are once again back in "tease-mode" with sun and almost warm weather. So I just had to run out and play with some rocks. After all, what better way to take advantage of a nice sunny day? At any rate, I assembled a fair number of stacks, and somehow this picture seems to jump out of the collection for me. I like the contrasting large rock with the tiny ones on top of it.
As usual for these creations of mine, no glue or strings, no photoshop tricks (other than a bit of level adjustments, file size and border stuff) were used, just gravity and friction. Oh, and no rocks were harmed during the creation of this, honest.
Thanks for taking a look!

Cool! Obviously, you're more balanced than I.
wonderful photo
If I were your next-door neighbor, I'd sit in my window and wait for you to come out and play. I'd be out there like a jack-in-the-box, popping up taking pictures all the time! LOL! This is too cool.
Great POV & comp...
bien vue!
I love how these take on personalities. The textures are rather nice too...I can see so many planet texture potentials; that in and of itself is appealing. The POV is great, it makes these look positively enormous. Yeah, I like this!
oh fun. Great pov on these. Last September, we drove through Red Rock Canyon and all along the roadside were stacks of rocks... were you there? ;)
You make a work so unique and original! Very special image :)
Mike, I think I've figured it out...... I think you're channeling those guys that used levitation to build Stonehenge, the Pyramids, and the statues on Easter Island. Or maybe it's just a touch of spring fever! :-D It was almost 70 here this afternoon - a perfect day for stacking rocks outside, but all I have at the moment are chunks of limestone, and there's not much challenge in stacking those. It's kinda like stacking bricks! Anyway - very cool shot
Great POV and close up! =D
wonderful done
... thank you for confirming that no stone has been molested , and there was no doubt that fighting stones poarticipent this amazing collection ...
You can thank me for the snow....It came through here(Wisconsin)and snowed on my Tulips that had begun there growth from the previous 3 days of low sunny 40's to then snow 5 inches here overnight before moving in your direction...I can relate oh to well on the tease/freeze factor.... BTW....Nice Balancing Act!...
Excellent work and capture!!!
Xcellent clarity and details!
Very Clever.
Love your balancing rocks. I'm way behind on looking and commenting on folks' postings. I may not comment on every one because my recent surgery limits my time at a computer, but I will definitely look at them and enjoy them and try to make a couple of comments.
Amazing!!! David
