Description
Twenty miles south of the Oregon border on the coast of California is the town of Crescent City. It is 1.6 miles in area with a population of just 7,542. On March 27, 1964, Good Friday, a 9.2 earthquake struck Anchorage, Alaska generating a tsunami that hit Crescent City the next day. The tsunami killed eleven people and destroyed thirty city blocks including the town's historic downtown area. The people picked themselves up and rebuilt.
Today the town is not much to look at and you might wonder why people would stay here. This is some of the rugged coast just south of the town. Any more questions?

I know Crescent City well; it's on the way to a lot of other places. It does have a beautiful coastline.
Gorgeous beach! It's been years, but I remember it fondly.
Wonderful shot and what a lovely 'crocodile' head lying there on the shore!!

Excellent! Well done!
Well with that wind and tide it's not exactly a sunny seaside vacation spot but ruggedly beautiful all the same! You can really feel the atmosphere through your photo. Great shot!!!
Been there. you captured it very well
Beautiful atmosphere and color. I love the detail, patterns, and color of the tree trunk in the foreground, the cresting waves, and the far distant seagull. Excellent shot!
