Description
A green heron is looking for a free meal, but he doesn't know that they don't give meals for free anywhere, not even in the swamps.... And, in fact, he has to wade very slowly around the slimy, mucous water to spot a frog, a fish, or even the occasional leeches and mice. And hope that the prey isn't smart enough to notice its death coming, ready to swallow it. All considered, I prefer the supermarket round the corner. BTW, why they call it 'green' when it's definitely 'blueish' for me, I can't say.
Thanks for your kind comments.

me encanta.
Impressive bird and great capture. Here, in Holland, the great blue is numerous but not really blue.
Such an amazing and beautiful bird. I like your treatment too. It accentuates the water textures.

I believe that the birds that are fed become a bit lazy to find food. But such a beautiful pose .... lol Congratulations and many thanks ((5 + +)) Je croie bien que les oiseaux que l'ont nourrit deviennent comme un peu paresseux à se trouver de la nourriture . Mais belle pose pareil lol.... Bravo et mille mercis((5++))
they are beautiful birds and a very good presentation
My bird book says that the green feathers on the crown are so dark green that it looks black. Fantastic capture with the low POV and outstanding postwork Sandra. Dana
