Today would have been my dads 80th birthday... This photo shows two of the things he had such a love for fishing and my mom, not necessarily in that order. lol In the photo of him fishing, he is the one on the right, showing off his catches for the day, the man on the left is his best friend of over 40 years Carl, and I consider him to be my second dad, what a lucky girl I was to have such two wonderful men in my life that I admired and loved and I miss them both so much.
Happy Birthday Dad I am baking you a cake..
also Happy Birthday to Elizabeth Taylor they share the same birthday. I always loved her too. :)
Thanks for all your comments and guesses on my last photo, I will be posting the last one for the letter Z in a few days. Have a great night. Happy Oscar night....

Y is for You for Jocko500 and all of you..

In my opinion, American men are great fun of fishing...I read a lot of books about trout fishing in the wild. I wish I was able to share the cake with you. Very kind tribute.
This is a sweet memory and one that will always remain in your heart. Thank you for sharing.

A great idea for birthday would have been your father this year! Very nice story with him and his friend ... I wonder why our daughter is as foreign to his parents ... it's beautiful love subsidiary when there! Thanks to you!
Beautiful capture and memory, Lynell. It is very obvious that he loved fishing. :) A great tribute to you father. I lost both my parents too, so i know how it feels to miss them now and then. And a happy birthday to you dad, and Liz :)+5

Wonderful tribute!
A heartfelt and nostalgic tribute to your Dad; I understand how it must feel to celebrate his birthday without his physical presence...But true love goes beyond our terrestrial limits.

Fantastic, and so sweet ... a dedi to your Dad. (I miss mine terribly)
Здорово! Какой год? 40 years ?
Exactly the same with my dad. Thank you.
Beautiful tribute to your father. When I look at this picture, I think of one of my dad holding up a string of fish. The smile and look of enjoyment are the same. Isn't it wonderful that the memories of others brings our own lost loved ones back to us. I love that you baked him a cake. Lovely inset image of him with your mother. Very sad that Elizabeth Taylor is now gone. When Fred Astaire died, my sister called me to give me comfort. She knew how much I loved him. I had a dream where he gave me the gentlest and most loving hug. I called her to tell her that I had been hugged by Fred Astaire. Lol.
Very Nice pictures, I see those fish are what Wisconsinites call "Bullheads". My dad passed away when I was 15 so I can feel what you felt. This is a very nice tribute. Cheers, Roger
