Description
This is my second work inspired by the wonderful writings of Chipka who's science fiction reminds me of Usula LeGuin or C.J. Cherryh, solid character-driven stories set in a universe that stands strongly even when viewed through the most demanding of hard-Science Fiction fans. Chip also knows how to base his universe on solid science, but then places complex, compelling and completely believable characters in it to move and breath. That, I think is perhaps the hardest part of Science fiction, and many people are so concept-driven that characters are just a means to an end, but the real story is not so much the concept, but what that means to the people who are trapped in that concept. Technology doesn't make us, WE make the technology. But I digress. Anyway, I've talked a few times about SF and characters and space ships with Chip, and found the universe and the people who move through his Nemaean stories that I can't quite seem to not end up wanting to dabble in it some more. So, here's my take on part of his universe, and I do so appreciate his willingness to let me play in his playground! Thanks, man, you've inspired me in more ways than you could imagine!

Very nice ships! Great textures! I have to re-orient my thinking though, to appreciate that the pointy end is the engine and the broad end is forward.

Fantastic, Mike! These ships have Chip written all over them. They look a bit like a combination of Chip's beloved little critters with a bit of Cylon influence. These are incredible! I really need to spend a day reading Chip's writing, and will once things calm down here - hopefully soon!
Oh I love these! How can I not...they remind me of something woodlice might build if woodlice built things and well...THAT is a good thing in and of itself. Your backgrounds are always as intriguing as your foreground objects/characters and I love that balance: excitement all over the place! And as for your words/dedication...WOW!!! Thank you.
