Description
As perthaps some of you knows, I love vintage space technology.
Here are a couple of models, made by me, of actual vintage plastic model kits based on real space engineering design.
The rocket is the "Multi-stage Transport Rocket" plastic kit by Lindberg Issued circa 1958.
A three-stage rocket with a delta wing third stage, based on a Werner von Braun design. Reissued again during the '80 as "Mars Probe" and "Star Probe" versions then was Re-reissued in 1993 by Glencoe Models as "Transport Rocket."
The space station is the "S-1 Space Station" by Strombecker, available as model kit only briefly during the mid and late 1950s. Glencoe Models revived it in 1993, billing it as simply the "Nuclear Powered Space Station".
This Werner von Braun space station appeared in Collier's magazine and in the Disney "Man In Space" TV series.
The space station is contained in my renderosity product named "Space Stations and Spacecraft".
