Description
A simple portrait of Rose Tyler from Doctor Who (her first season longer haired self to be precise). I was thinking of adding a background since the photo that I used for reference didn't have one, but decided that it really didn't need one. Decided to leave the drawing non-burnished on this one, because I liked the look of the paper showing through a bit, as opposed to the usual burnishing technique that I use with colored pencils.
Done with a combination of Derwent, Spectracolor and Prismacolor pencils on Canson Mi-teintes 98lb paper. Thanks for stopping by and having a look.

Superb.
Rose from Dr. Who! She was always one of my favorite Who Girls. I don't like the last two. Good job! (5) ~ lotus@DarkElves.org ~ ~ lotus@Eilistraee.org ~
Very nice hair work and folds in the clothing.
Very nice work. Well done!
Another outstanding job using color pencils. Thanks for sharing your talent with us.
Very good portrait with vivid eyes, the clothing is terrific!
Absolutely spot on, mate! You captured the attitude and expression perfectly. Amazing how - even when using a reference - how many people miss the essentials. You didn't. I like the textured look, too. Gives the image more "feel", if you get my drift.
I haven't seen Doctor Who nor do I know Rose Tyler, but I like her hair :o) - honestly! The rough look is what really makes this a sight for sore eyes - I guess that's what you meant about not burnishing it, right? And I agree that the portrait doesn't need a background - the lady is the attraction, period. I'd so love to see more of your drawings as they're always so outstanding from all the other stuff here, but I guess real life interferes more than we all like it to. Lots of hugs, ~Sassy~
that's good
