Description
As illustrator usually I creates artworks for book covers or magazines on demand, but I long toyed with the idea to create illustrations of classic science fiction novels to put on the royalty free market, as usual for my spare pruduction.
Here's the cover (the seventh of my "classic sci-fi series" - take a look to the other ones) of Ringworld - a Hugo, Nebula, and Locus award-winning 1970 science fiction novel by Larry Niven.
Totally rendered in Bryce 7, postwork with Photoshop 7 and Dynamic-Photo HDR.

Fabulous image, but the book 'Ringworld Engineers' refers to it having stabilizing engines - some of which had been stolen - used to realign the ring as it was prone to moving out of prosition. I see no sign of these in your amazing work.

loved this... (years and years, and years ago, I met Larry Niven at a Science Fiction Convention.. I mentioned that there was a chance that Ringworld was unstable... he laughed and said it wasn't...then he brought out Ringworld Engineers....) this rendition is soooo cool!

Very cool! There's been so many attempts to visualize his ringworld, and the scale of it makes that awefully hard to do. You've got the feeling and the mood of the book perfect, which is what this would make a great cover for it. Maybe they'll use it for the next reprinting that they'll inevitably do?

Very lovely re-envision of a Ringworld. While I am familiar with it, the concept of it, and some of the details, I have yet to read it. I should go find it somewhere.
