Description
Yesterday my friend and soccerplayer Svein Mathisen (58) died of cancer.
He was a fantastic striker and scored 106 goals for his team, Start, in Kristiansand.
Also played for the Norwegian national team.
Played a few years in Hiebernian as a pro.
This picture was taken in 1978 when he played against FC Brann in Bergen and is the most famous picture I have ever made.
RIP Svein.

my condolences, and sorry for your loss. Nice shot, BTW, a good tribute. Thank you.
Yes a great pic Knut, so sad you have lost your friend.
I read about this in the paper. That's sad, and it said he was at a game just days before he died. 58 is too young. It's a great shot with the dog though mate!
Yes, as Andrew says...58 is waaay to young. Lovely dedi and sorry for your loss.
I concur with your other many friends in deepest condolences for the loss of still another person taken far too soon. - God Bless
Very beautiful tribute to a great person. Gone too soon from this world
Lovely dedi and sorry for your loss !
OH I am so sorry for your loss of a friend. It was way to early ofr his age. SO sad. But this shot is fabulous.!!
A great foto and one that captures your friend's spirit so well. Seems the good do die young; I am so sorry for your loss.
I am so sorry to read of your friend, and maybe take comfort that while even though he led a short life it appears by your photo and what you wrote that he did live a very full life. Question in my mind is with all the advances in medicine does it not seem like we just hear more and more of people we know that have cancer, it touches way too many people.
Lovely dedi and sorry for your loss !
