Description
Hello everyone and thanks for looking...
I was looking through the many files I have buried away in my runtime, and I found a hair texture freebie by Bucketload3D for Quarker's Saffire Fox hair, which is one of my favorite old hair props. So I paired it with Rebelmommy's excellent character, and used Colm's Indirect Lighting Studio, and voila! Unfortunately, since most hair (and eyelashes too) use transparency maps, and since those maps usually take a while to render the shadows through them, this seemed to take forever! Probably about 12 to 14 hours. I just started it rendering and chucked the laptop in a corner somewhere to churn. By contrast, if you uncheck the 'visible in raytracing' button on the properties tab, this same picture rendered in about 15 minutes.
What do you think? I really love hearing your comments.

Great work as always buddy. I'm finding that I'm going to have to start turning off raytracing on my renders as well. I'm going to loose some detail but will speed up my production time. Doing a comic book on a single computer is hell on time. Again great work buddy. Keep em coming.
WOOOOOOOOOW! This is GORGEOUS Tom! Love that hair and the shadows! Those luscious lips are just begging for some kissing. What a cutie too! Can't go wrong with Rebelmommy's girls. Absolutely beautiful! Gotta find that hair.
Beautiful character...excellent work!!!
Fantastic. Absolutely worth leaving the raytracing on on the hair. Great work.
Excellent
Oh I know that look!
real wonderful young lady and excellent portrait
BEAUTIFULLY done!
Yes! I do believe you! What do you want of me!??....A very beautiful portrait and I think she's fully worth the lots of hours! Very lovely face and wonderfully done hair! Congrats! :o) :o) :o)
Great! I like!
WOWWW REALLY NICE...ONE OF YOUR BEST!
Very nice portrait.
Lovely expression and image. Excellent work!
Beautiful hair and the highlights just catching in the eyes really bring her to life!
oooo.. sexy!
The realism is stunning. I have that hair buried somewhere, so now I'm going to pull it out. With "invisible in raytracing" checked, did it look this good? I am awful at portraits, so I should be the last to try and give advice, but I think if her eyes were looking just a tad lower, as if right at the viewer. Of course, I'm not looking at another 14 hours of render.
Wow, she has that look down pat! Great render!
incredible expression - LOL :)
very sweet.. and yes.. i do believe
Stunning, charming character! Vashek
I really like this, Tom! But, no, I don't believe her! LOL
