Description
Definitely not one of the prettier species of ducks, I still had to get a few shots of them.

Nice catch my friend. He basks in the sun. Good choice of installation. Congratulations and many thanks ((5 + +)) Belle prise mon ami . Il se dore au soleil . Bon choix de pose . Bravo et mille mercis((5++))
I like the shot even if he isn't the most beautiful of the duck species. He looks pretty swimming amongst the ripples and the plants.
I needed Wikipedia to understand what was this Ruddy Duck... no wonder, they do not appear in my country (Continental Europe)... very nice to learn a new species... (one week ago I saw a couple of Common Goldeneye ducks in Northern France... I was told that these are pretty rare in our area... Thank you John for sharing daily your wonderful wildlife captures ! :~)
Rather dignified though!
He's built for blending, I think; beautiful capture!
I find them quite pretty with their bright blue beaks they have here, but I almost never see them. I like your shot!
Beautiful photo.
