Description
My final stealth aircraft picture of the week is a follow on from yesterday's submission.
Shown here is the Northrop/McDonald Douglas YF-23 fighter which lost out to the Lockheed YF-22 fighter in the completion to become the next generation of USAF daylight stealth fighter.
Here is a little bit of trivia for you. After spending millions, if not billions of dollars to research, build and develop not one but two YF-23's, after the aircraft lost the competation both these fully functioning aircraft were placed in museums - what a waste.
The links below will take you to information on both the YF now F-22 fighter and the
YF-23:-

wonderful render!!
Really nice aircraft!
Another cool render of a plane that could have been great.I suppose an educational display is the only place for this.Given the billions it cost in R&D no one would buy it.It would not be worthwhile the USAF flying it even if it was given to them free. Not even a stealth fighter is of use without a constant supply of spares. This must be a growing problem these days for companys competing for contracts. This must be the best arguement for longevity and upgrade in current systems. Have a good weekend Phil, catch you next week.
nicely done :)
Great image and work my friend.
