Description
Firstly, I want to thank Tara (auntietk) again for collaborating on the Predator story, which arose spontaneously out of a throw-away comment of mine on an image that grew out of nothing, and which developed into a full blown story that had a life of its own. The full story, slightly expanded with some small but very important additions to the plot, is reproduced in Tara's gallery.
These are a few of the images that I created during the process of developing the story, but which didn't make the final cut for one reason or another, much like the deleted scenes you will find in the Extras section of a DVD release. Some are unfinished images, others didn't quite portray what I wanted or fit the story line that Tara or I had written.
Thanks for all the support, comments and favourites while the story developed. Marca has not disappeared - she's just gone into stasis while I embark on my new teaching job, but I'm sure she'll return. I already have a few plot lines developing...

Great peek behind the scenes Craig...for discarded images they sure show a lot of planning and work...really enjoyed this set!
Glad she isn't gone for good! Nice!! ")
Masterful set of images to an exciting journey. Wonderfully done.
Fantastic done! Next story please about the cat :)
Just like a DVD where you get the main movie and all the behind the scene goodies that come with it...(smile)...Nice Work to you both!
They all look pretty awesome to me:-)the lighting and effects exceptional!! Fabulous work!
WOW...This is an extraordinary work my friend, fabulous sequence, amazing effects, just perfect. Congratulations!
~Thanks for these! They are all awesome! I just loved this story!~
Exceptional excellentness. Hope you're teaching Vue 101.
Wow! Even your throwaways are fabulous! I love the ones of Margaret at the computer, not because they're better than the others (I think they're all excellent!), but because of the reasons she might have been there! :D Fine work throughout, my friend. Thanks for sharing the rest of these images!
fantastic team work.. loved the images.. the story and now the throw aways i must honestly say.. and write .. that the not-good-for-you version of part 4: Simultaneity seems cooler to me than the one you did put in it the reason are the displays in the final version.. the one you did not use is more realistic.. I also love the image above it.. It would be a super image on it's own.. outside any story thanks again for all the (h)art/d work
I agree here with all other Artist - absolut cool story

what an great storywork !
That was one great story and such beautiful work accompanied it.
Those are some very impressive works, and to think they were the throwaways? wow!
well there WAS a Director's Cut! I wasn't far off! I like all your 'rejects,' Craig, it shows us your creative process (which is what such images do), and they have lots of fine visual elements, by themselves. You've put more detail into some of the repeated images, the station images are different but feel very strangely isolated & intensive---and that's key, I think, ie, you captured the strange feeling of such places where 'day or night' don't really mean much. They remind me of the old computer rooms in the 70's where mainframes took up whole rooms and the places had harsh artificial lighting, were always climate controlled, and the whirring of tapes was constant. Your chambers have that cloistered feeling. And the image of Marca---second to last image---has monumentality. You really explored a lot of postures, light & character in your visuals. I'll go see Tara's revised portions later (I'm dying to see how she changed them...) But I have to go right now (I've almost been here 2 hours, I think!), but I'm going to come back for your 'straight' images too, Craig. It's been so long, and I want to spend more time. So until later, really fine work to both of you! You have much to be proud of...
