Description

Things have been very hectic with my wife’s eye so I have retooled an old posting. It is a 250 pound Grouper, taken at the Atlanta Aquarium. Hope you like it. We spent most of today at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. Jo’s eye is still healing and they are guessing 45 to 60 days to go. The laser repair to her retina seems to have been a success. They put a gas bubble inside her eye, to press against the repair and speed the recovery. She has to sleep and rest on her left side, so the bubble, presses against the right side of her right eye. The doctors fear, is that the surgery will cause cataracts to form. Time will tell. Wishing you and yours a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year! Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana

Groupers are such massive and impressive things! Kinda cute in a grouper-ish way. I have yet to score any sufficient number of underwater shots like this, which means that I don't get to visit aquariums enough, but I hope to change that in the future. In the meantime, I get to enjoy shots like this. I love that underwater blue color and the head-on view of the fishly person itself. Quite a nice glamor shot! I'm glad to hear that your wife's healing process has begun, and I hope that things continue to improve in terms of her health. I also understand about hectic schedules...mine has been insane of late, and at times I have no clue as to whether I'm coming or going: I thought only time travelers had that problem. Oh well...at least I get to see shots like this, and look forward to seeing all of the good stuff I missed once the weekend gets here. This is a great shot. I like it quite a lot.

Good luck with your wife's eye Dana. Anything to do with eyes gives me the creeps! I could never even touch my eye to wear a contact lens! I was about to complain when I looked at this photo. I was quite sure it was me and you had taken it without my permission...now I look its a fish....but the similarity is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope your wife recovers quickly from that eye problem, it must be very worrying for both of you! I know if that fish were looking at me that way he'd probably be thinking that he could eat for months if he could get that guy in here!

Cool image! I've seen Groupers in the wild, when I've scuba'd. One bugger was at least 350 pounds...a giant fish! But the daunting fellow was actually quite friendly to humans and inquisitive, too.

Please give Jo my best, Dana and I hope that her eye heals quickly! Eye surgery, etc. kind of gives me the willies...although I DO wear contacts, LOL. Love this picture. These fish get SO big! I think it was in Florida where I ate grouper once. As I recall it was rather tasty!
