The white wagtail (Motacilla alba, Linnaeus 1758) is a passerine spread throughout Eurasia.
The size of a sparrow, tail and long slender forms with white, black and gray rather mixed. He runs quickly and frequently shake the tail. It can only be confused with the Yellow Dancer and the Yellow Wagtail, both with yellow belly and undertail. Slender form shaken with a long tail often with a rhythmic movement, thin, pointed beak.
The male in nuptial dress is unmistakable: white mask on the face and eyes contrasting with his throat, chest and neck blacks, gray back and wings, black tail edged in white and white bottom. The female has blurred colors on the head and both sexes have a more nuanced in winter plumage. The young man is white and gray with a black crescent on the breast and tail shorter than the adult.
Living free in nature in all continents, much like the other members of the genus prefers areas next to water even if it can be found in other environments due to its remarkable capacity to adapt
