Description

A study of Jack Vettriano's painting "Night Calls." You can see the original at JackVettriano.com. I spent a long time on this, too long. The color tones in the original are quite different, and so are a lot of other things. The main things I wish I'd done better were the lighting, the mixture of exhaustion and sublime relief on his face and the folds of his shirt sleeves. Despite my dissatisfaction with it I finally decided to post the piece. Otherwise, I would've been working on it forever. If anyone has suggestions about how I could've better managed the lighting, the fabric folds, etc., then please feel free to make them. Thanks for the encouragement and comments.
