Description
It is hard to imagine but in the 16th and 17th century the harbour of Gouda(NL) was of great importance to the economy of Holland. Nowadays it isn't of any significance at all. It is sleepy. Many of the boats in this picture serve as a permanent dwelling and stay for a long time.
