Description
The far eastern edge of the Sunerian kingdom is a vast desert, barren except for several precious oases. At these oases the king has posted sentinels to guard the borders of the kingdom and the very valuable water found there. This sentinel is on his guard as strangers approach...one hand at ready on his sword, the other ready to work magic. For with a wave of his hand, the seemingly inanimate scorpions at his feet magically transform into clawing, stinging death for any trespassers or water thieves....

My thanks to Lynn (lwperkins) for giving me the opportunity to experiment with her new textures for prae's Euros outfit, Glorious Euros. The idea for this image actually came from one of the textures called Sun King, but I ended up using the Purple Reign texture because the color really popped in this scene.
Thanks also to my friend rogue29730 who tipped me off on masked layers for postwork in Photoshop. It sure makes postworking easier and more fun....there are nine masked layers in this image. Merci beaucoup, mon ami!
Thanks to all of you for the look and your comments! I appreciate you all!

Excellent work!!!!!!!!!!
A most impressive render, great lighting and textures.
I think the left hand, the Magik Hand, is the thing to be most worried about, though the sword looks pretty mean! Wonderful texturing and color of the outfit on the guard! Well crafted as always.
excellent looking character
Very dangerous looking lot here, including the scorpions of course! Super scene!

The purple does stand out wonderfully! Beautiful detail, colors, and textures! I love the lighting on the scorpians and on his skin. Excellent image! I'm reading "Dune" right now. Another world where water is precious.
